RAVEN, the ominous bird of yore, is accurate embodiment mystery, pain and power. The designer connects it to Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" and chronicles the journeys of her subconscious through imageries of the depths of forest blossoms, and the dark feminine energy of the night, through an intriguing, deep color palette in prints and techniques, moving towards blazing Reds and finally to flesh pinks baring the skin and soul, one layer at a time, burning……all in the label’s quintessential folkloric language.
The soul yearns a quiet escape... The past few months of collective suffering through the pandemic have brought upon us, anguish and self realisation alike... Human kind craves normalcy, rhythm and flow like never before.. It is time for slowing down, reflecting, and quiet surrender to the sombre sounds of nature... "Take me to the water" is an extension of this yearning. It is nostalgic, romantic and gentle..
Inspired by a song by Leonard Cohen by the same name, this collection is an ode to love and longing, and consequent disclaim of all that holds down a free-spirited gypsy woman.... Boho-chic in treatment, it celebrates the visceral, sensual, hedonistic spirit of intense loving and reckless abandon, deep, and sometimes dark... The brand tells this story in the brand's quintessential folkloric language, with all its theatricality. From flirty ruffles, fringes and rich tassels over sheer layers, dramatic volumes, telltale surfaces to tribal patterns in surfaces and nature inspired prints creating a perfect medley of florals and geometrics true to the bohemian ethos... the imagery created is mysterious, intriguing, and intense.
